2008 Reunion Recap

I had some great roommates and travel buddies. This is Pam Hanks, my director and a friend Joyce Williams from Weston, ID. We had a GREAT TIME!

We had fun at the opening session where accomplishment in our “Race to Reunion” was recognized. Individual “racers” (each consultant) had the opportunity to earn “slides” of cash from the company as bonuses for performance. These slides were earned in various ways but were based on consistency. I am proud to announce that I had 3 consistency slides. Each slide was worth $100. So I proudly brought home my bonus check on $300.00! Next year I hope to bring home the top giveaway, which this year was 13 slides—that’s $1300!

We were inspired by the president of our company Doug Cloward. It was a miracle he could even attend. He has been fighting cancer since April and in the first stages, was told that he could only have a few days to live! After very challenging chemotherapy sessions, infections and bouts of pneumonia and sickness, his body was not responding the way doctors had hoped it would. After strong faith, fasting and prayers, the doctors found his blood count start to go up and he was able to be there. He said “Heritage Makers allows everyone to Define, Develop and Celebrate Who they are!”.

We attended lots of classes and training pertaining to the business and helping us learn to better service our customers. I learned tons of stuff. Our website got a makeup while we were away and it launched this morning–LOVE the new site and I am SO SO SO EXCITED about the template gallery I can hardly stand it!

After the Race recognition we were treated to a concert with Ryan Shupe and the Rubberband! LOVE THEM! I have seen them many times, but it was awesome having them in such a small group. Before the concert they were presented with (and BLOWN AWAY with) a 12×12 book created for them entitled “Dream Big” (a title of one of their songs–LOVE IT! The company had taken the lyrics of their songs and pictures of them performing and scattered it throughout a book. It was an awesome book and an even better concert! We had a blast as we line danced, did the congo line, the wave, and just enjoyed. They are great performers.

The next day was full of workshops and great announcements of new products, reduced prices on selected products, a new workshop presentation program and kit. It was so exciting! Then we were able to get dressed up and attend the Royal Ball! It was our official company awards recognition night. The dinner was AMAZING–so yummy. We were all princesses and princes for an evening and we got to watch as achievements were honored. I was recognized for a rank advancement to Star Consultant.

The next day an exciting announcement was made.

OPRAH WINFREY LOVES HERITAGE MAKERS BOOKS!!!!!!!
Here’s the story: Brenda Kruse, a Heritage Makers consultant from Iowa, wrote a book for Oprah about the passing of Oprah’s dog, Gracie. Though, not a “pet person” herself, Brenda connected to Oprah’s article about the lesson she learned from Gracie’s death about the need to “Slow Down.”

Brenda had a 5×5 credit in her account, so she made a “Gracie’s Gift” book for Oprah and sent it to her at Harpo Studios.A few weeks later, Brenda received a call that went straight to her voicemail. When she checked her messages, she about passed out!

Oprah Winfrey took the time to personally call Brenda to thank her for the “lovely, lovely gift” of the book she made. “I love this,” her voicemail said and then, “Every story deserves a book of its own. You know I believe that!” She was reading from the cover of the sleeve that is on every Heritage Makers book!!!

See Brenda’s book for Oprah Winfrey HERE.

Listen to Brenda’s voicemail from Oprah HERE!

Heritage Makers will have an Oprah landing page and all of this info on the company website next week.

“A lot of people can say that Oprah has made a difference in their life, but I can say that I have made a difference in Oprah’s life. That’s the power of Storybooking. That’s the power of being a Heritage Makers consultant!”- Brenda Kruse

After the convention closed it was off to DISNEYLAND!! It felt weird not having my family there with me and I kept thinking. Annalyce would love this, or I wish Dan was here, or Erica would laugh if she rode that. Although I missed my family dearly I did enjoy riding the rides! Space Mountain is still by far my FAVORITE and I loved it! I don’t ever remember going in the fall and it was all decorated for Halloween. It was so fun. The Haunted Mansion was simply adorable all decorated in a Spooky Christmas theme to combine Christmas and Halloween.

It was a wonderful weekend and I am glad to be home, and hope to catch up on sleep very soon!! I don’t know if any of you noticed what the sign on the lighthouse says. It says “Storybookland”. Anyone what knows me knows I LOVE and collect lighthouses. They also know I love and collect my own storybooks–I have a ton of them! So I think this is my new theme lighthouse. This lighthouse sums up my two collections. If you can’t tell I love what I do and you can too!!!!

Heritage Makers is poised to launch a Heritage movement across the country.
This company has a vision and a mission like no other company I have seen.
I am part of this movement and that vision, but I need help. Heritage Makers is about to go HUGE nationwide and when you logon to your heritage studio today to create something you will see why, but we need more consultants!

I NEED people to help me. Have you ever considered doing what I do? Do you know someone who might be? Please call me. I can’t think of anything more meaningful than a story under every tree and a book in every home this year for the holidays. Please let me know if I can help you make this happen for your family this year.

Now back to making my next book……”What it Means to be a Chandler”. Stay tuned for the finished product!
